"I measure the success of therapy by the changes clients experience in their everyday lives."

About Dr. Kate
For decades, I have dedicated my professional life to helping people navigate challenges, create meaningful change, and live more fulfilling lives. As both a therapist and educator, I have worked with individuals from many different backgrounds and stages of life, each seeking greater clarity, resilience, and well-being.
Over the years, I began to notice something that deeply influenced my work: many people never gain access to the support, tools, and guidance that could help them create lasting positive change. Too often, individuals struggle alone, unsure where to turn or believing they should simply push through their challenges without help.
Rhode Island Psychotherapy was created in response to that need. My goal is to provide thoughtful, high-quality care that is accessible, practical, and focused on helping people move forward. Therapy should offer more than a place to talk—it should provide insight, support, effective tools, and a path toward greater well-being.
Whether you are facing anxiety, relationship challenges, stress, burnout, trauma, or a major life transition, I strive to create a supportive environment where meaningful growth and lasting change can take place.
My Approach
I believe that meaningful change happens when compassion and effective action work together. Therapy should provide a space where you feel heard, understood, and supported, but it should also help you create tangible improvements in your life.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and direct. I work closely with clients to identify the underlying patterns, challenges, and obstacles contributing to their concerns, and together we develop practical strategies that support meaningful progress. While every person's situation is unique, I believe therapy is most effective when it is focused not only on understanding problems, but also on creating solutions.
I measure the success of therapy by the changes clients experience in their everyday lives. Greater confidence, healthier relationships, reduced anxiety, improved resilience, clearer decision-making, and a stronger sense of well-being are all examples of meaningful outcomes that can emerge through the therapeutic process.
While feeling heard and understood is an important part of healing, lasting change often requires more than conversation alone. Depending on your goals and needs, our work may incorporate a variety of therapeutic tools, techniques, and complementary approaches designed to support growth, insight, and positive change.
My goal is to help you move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and the skills needed to create lasting improvements in your life.
